Overview of Programs

Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair
A student stands proudly in front of her science project.(GPHSF)

The GPHSF is an annual event where K-12 homeschooled students showcase their science and engineering projects. The students are evaluated by teams of judges consisting of local teachers and science professionals.

RoboWhizards FLL (middle school robotics)

The RoboWhizards prepare for their next run in the 2005 competition At the middle school level, we participate in FIRST LEGO League (FLL), an annual international robotics program from September to December. We organize and coach teams, as well as mentor parents and teachers on how to coach their own teams. The RoboWhizards are 3-time Director's Award winners.

Driven FIRST (high school robotics)

High schoolers work together to build their robot For high schoolers, we have formed a community-based FIRST Robotics team (called "Driven Robotics") in partnership with a local high school. Our rookie team will compete for the first time in early 2006. Driven Robotics is in need of substantial support - financial, technical, materials, meeting space, etc.

Science Academy Classes

Math Olympiads

We make it possible for homeschool students to participate in the Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) program by providing weekly training sessions and five testing hours. We prepare high-school students for the American Mathematics Competition (AMC), which we administer each year.
Visit the Delaware County Homeschoolers Math Olympiad website.

Magic School

It's not magic, it's science. But it amazes like magic. Science Resources has teamed up with a multi-disciplinary group of Villanova University professors to organize a science/theater/magic summer program. Students attend seminars at Villanova and then become the Magic School instructors for groups of younger inner-city children.

Enrichment Activities

Students prepare to race their solar-powered cars. We offer varying activities to supplement students' existing science and engineering education, from field trips to short courses. Examples of our enrichment activities include forensic science, moon rock investigation, aeronautics, sheep brain dissection, and Jr. Solar Sprint. Our enrichment activites are offered on an as-needed basis. Submit suggestions for an enrichment activity to .
